Day 2: Ongole (9:15am) -> Srikakulam (9:00pm) - 640kms
Day 3: Srikakulam (7:00am) -> Chilka Lake -> Konark -> Cuttuck (9:40pm) - 506kms
Day 4: Cuttuck (2:30pm) -> Rajahmundry (2:00am) - 655kms
Day 5 (March 9th, 2015): Rajahmundry (10:00am) -> Hyderabad -> Bangalore (1:30am) - 1040kms.

Pondicherry and Mahabalipuram - 23rd-25th Aug, 2014

NOTE:
1. NH66 (road from Krishnagiri to Gingee) is totally screwed up. There are boards everywhere about 'Work in progress', but no sign of any work, materials, construction vehicles or workers anywhere.

2. Be warned about visiting Pondicherry on Sunday, lot of places may be closed for the afternoon, so you would be left with no activities (if not planned in advance).

3.  Don't take the Horse ride (in Mahabalipuram especially) if you are alone or just 2 people. Especially, if you don't know Tamil. It may turn out to be disaster than that of pleasure ride on the beach. Better to make a deal in group.

Mysore - 21-23rd Feb, 2014

It was one of the few trips where only me and pallavi did a trip.

Trip was focused on showing Animals (mainly elephant, tiger, bear and birds) to our son. Stayed in Royal Archid, Metropole. Visited Kukkarahalli lake, and had lake side dinner at 'Silent Shores'.

A well deserved trip.

Humcha, Hosanagara trip with School friends - 2014 Jan 18th and 19th.

Distance : 789km
Time : ~33hrs (2pm on 18th left BLR, came back by 11pm on 19th)
Vehicle: Innova (I drove the full stretch)
People : 7-8 (one got added for return trip)



It was overall fun as the trip was mostly about talking 20 year old stories of school days.

Stayed at Prakash's home @ Humcha. Attended Punith's wedding @ Kargadi (karanagiri). Visited temples of Humcha, and Backwater @ Kargadi. Took a motorboat ride. Overall a fun trip.

Bheemeshwara - 2014 Jan 3rd

This was done as a trip to take my wife out on her birthday. I had heard about the place a lot of times, but never had got a chance to visit it even though it was < 60kms from my native.

This time, as I was jobless, made sure I have time for visiting this place. Went there with my wife, son, a cousin (Pooja) and aunt (Anita). Had taken food from home, but if one needs, the priest's family can prepare the food.

It is one of the really nice/calm place at the core of western ghats.

Enjoyed the trip! and bath in the cold, serene water of Bheemeshwara.

North Karnataka Trip with Gowda (26th, 27th, 28th of Dec, 2013)

Sondur's marriage was the reason to start this journey. It was our first trip as partners @ our new venture.

Total reading on the trip meter at the end of it was 1375kms (in ~65hrs).

Bluff - Shivanasamudra (Gagana chukki) - 20130818

Total distance covered 224 Kms on my Innova. Total of 8 ppl, (Me, Pallavi, Achintya, Shreedhar Tumballi, Bhagya, Adhya, Nagaraj(aka, Raju), Mahima).

Very small trip, stayed there for just ~1hr or so...

ಹೊಳೆ ಊಟ - 31st March, 2013

 Went to hoLe ooTa (which mean, have a lunch near the water :p) with whole of the village (~120 people, including kids). It was totally fun. swimming was unlimited, including hot sun bath  :-) Food was really good, had 8 jahangeer in total.

It was Achintya's (our son, 8months old) first outing as such. He seemed to enjoy both water and nature.

Overall, good times.

Chikmagalur - 25th Feb, 2012

MullayanaGiri aka, BababuDangiri (24th Feb, 2012) : Drove the car till the top. It was already late, and was bit scared to drive the WagonR on that road when its dark, hence came down. Went there with Pallavi and Amma.

KemmannuGunDi (26th Feb, 2012): Went through the Estate Rd to Kemmannu GunDi. Nice scenic road, but was horrible on a WagonR. Took 3hrs for covering 30kms. Went with Pallavi.

Chandigarh - 20th May, 2011

Visited Rock Garden. Liked the concept. Pallavi loved it a lot. Played Jula (ಜೋಕಾಲಿ) after a long time. It was fun. After rock garden we went to lake, which didn't attract us so much as of Rock Garden. Later found a hotel near sector 17 (ie, busstand area). Went to Market area in evening.

Stayed in Chandigarh in night, and on 21st got a bus to Delhi and then a flight back to Bangalore.

Dharamshala and Kangra - HP

18th May reached McLeod Ganj (sub-urb of Dharamshala) after seeing 2 temples (chamunda Temple and Baijnath temple on the way.

19th Visited Kangra temple, and then Kangra Fort. It was a good place, but it was very sunny. Not a special place for our wedding anniversary. After getting back to Bhagsu, visited Tibetian temple where Dalai Lama resides. Due to IPL matches in Dharamshala during the same time, the area was very crowded.

20th May, we left towards Chandigarh.

Point Reyes National Seashore

Date: 27th Dec, 2009

It was a nice drive throughout. Nice curvy roads, and it was cloudy, chilly day.. sun came out at the light house when we went. It was a nice place.

Went to beach.. Also just walked through another beach on the way to Muir Woods, but the parking in muir woods was so full, we decided to head back home.

Lake Tahoe - 20091225

Day 1:

We went to 'sierra at tahoe', and took intermediate classes for skiing. It was fun this time, and I could get very comfortable with turning and all.

Temperature in night was around -5*C

Day 2:

Went to Gondala Ride @ heavenly ski resort.. it was fun and temperature on top of mountain was around -11*C.

After that, went through few view points, and headed back to home.

Over all a nice trip, and we all enjoyed skiing a lot.

New Mexico

Dates : 20-22 November, 2009

Miles in car: 1200miles

Day 1: Santa Fe, NM

City, known for old architecture and buildings. One of the early cities of USA/Mexico, tells lot of history about US Vs Mexican war.. Spanish history too.

Drove and stayed near WhiteSands.

Day 2: White Sand National Monument

One hell of a place. Played Football, volleyball, throwball, 'sikkor chendu'., did sand sliding. etc. It was complete fun.

went through El Paso, TX. One of the Border town of US / Mexico. Felt like we are in majestic area of bengaluru. on the roads, instead of guys staring at gals, gals were staring at us :O

Drove and camped near Carlsbad, NM.

Day 3: Carlsbad Caverns National Park

Another natural wonder. The caves here are "BIIIIIGGGGG' and AWESOME. they have electricity here, so the cave looks good. cave is 750ft below the mountain top, and they have elevator. These limestone caves are really a wonder.

Also visited Guadalupe Mountains National Park on the way back.

DeathValley National Park

Date: 7th and 8th November, 2009

Car : Mitsubhishi galant

Miles Travelled: 1350

Expectations were low, but it turned out to be very nice trip. did see waterfalls, deserts (sand dunes), canyons, lake (282 feet below sea level), golf course, castle (history.. manually constructed monument). mountains.

First time in the trip, I actually took time off and slept in back seat of the car while travelling (blame it on changed lifestyle, or jetlag or anything else). Counted stars :p

Lot more to tell.. but well.. may be sometime later.
